ABOUT THE SCHOOL
Discovering New Horizons |
The Newtown School is the first IGBC Gold Certified Green School in India under the new school category. We took our first step towards this journey of excellence, on 16th April 2015. | |
The global technological landscape is evolving at a frenetic pace. Information travels at a speed hitherto unanticipated, even a decade ago. The Newtown School (NTS), located amidst one of the fastest economically developing regions of Eastern India, arrives at precisely this cusp of global transformation. |
The school seeks to blend academics with practical knowledge in a unique ecosystem. This amalgamation will be synchronized with the values, which will transform each student into an asset for society. NTS has set a new benchmark in education through its approach towards the entire process of imparting education. |
|
The curriculum at NTS has been designed to inculcate a multi-dimensional approach in problem solving through teamwork and research. We at NTS believe that every student is unique in terms of creative talent, interests and inclination. Hence, our customised approach towards each student nurtures each child into a confident individual, capable of coping with the challenges of tomorrow. |

Our student Namrata De of Class IX C has been soaring high with many accolades in her kitty. Her focus and grit have been a defining factor for her success in the shooting arena. The world is developing, technology is growing and so is the young generation. Today's youth is turning smarter at a rapid pace and grabbing the best opportunities that life provides them. There is something about the way they look towards life. At a very tender age, they visualize changing the world. They have faith in their ideas and in themselves. That faith is what drives them to work towards every little dream they have. Working on the same philosophy, three of our young students; Anshuman Bhagat of Class VIII A, Aryan Mallick of Class VIII B and Tanish Majumdar of Class VIII D received the First Prize in Kolkata Region World Robot Olympiad 2018 in the Junior High Category. The competition was held in our School on 4th and 5th August 2018 with students from 22 reputed schools participating from the Eastern Region. They have successfully qualified for the National Olympiad 2018.
Our student, Rishav Kumar of class VIII-C has made us proud by becoming a registered App developer with Apple Inc after going through an online worldwide examination in which he secured an enviable 4308 th rank out of almost 9 lakh examinees. Since November 2017, he has published 4 apps on the iPhone and iPad App Store. This young achiever, started developing apps since he was 11 years old and has been encouraged in his endeavour by his parents. His perseverance and undaunted spirit has brought him thus far and will surely take him places in years to come. We wish him all the very best in all his future aspirations.

‘Challenges are what make life interesting. Overcoming them is what makes life meaningful’.
Real superheroes live in the heart of small children fighting big battles. Our very own Ananda Gopal Ghosal , a student of class VII has been a fighter since birth battling Kabuki Syndrome a congenital disorder, which afflicts one in 10 million. This disorder has caused an irreversible kidney malfunction and the child according to the nephrologist, requires an immediate kidney transplant. He has however, never allowed his physical difficulties to get the better of him and have participated in all our School activities with focussed enthusiasm and zeal. An epitome of extreme mental strength, Ananda is one of our academically promising students as well.
He has received the School’s First Annual Bravery Award on 15th August 2017; an initiative started by our school to recognize and salute the extraordinary grit and resilience in our students in the face of adversity.
May the Almighty always pave his way with His Blessings!
The Interact Club is an offshoot of the Rotary Club and is designed to bring together the students of Classes VII to IX to develop leadership skills while discovering the power of Service above Self.
